I am still struggling to find a plausible explanation for why my hair smells like chocolate.

LiveWire, although not functionally different from regular orange soda, is very good. I find it to be somewhat of a letdown, really. My theory is that its popularity is based entirely on its can. LiveWire, aka "Hi-C Orange Soda", has been around for years. So why isn't that other orange soda more popular than it is? Answer: bad can design. Nobody wants to see that thing labeled "Shasta", that name is practically synonymous with low quality. But this LiveWire thing, now that's good. When I see the can, I think, "Ahh! That precious cylinder obviously contains the sweet nectar of pure life, the elixir of youth distilled from the very heart of life, the essence of all that makes people happy." Then I drink it and it is such a letdown not to be transformed immediately into a being of bright light that I drink the can and go for another. I don't pretend to understand marketing, folks, but Mountain Dew is doing something right. If I were Coke, I'd have all of my corporate spies over at the MD joint doing a little bit of espionage with those cameras built into their geek glasses, taking copious amounts of notes, and trying my hardest to hire away their marketing execs. You hear me, Coke? I know the secret of success.

At least somebody let me know how much they liked siloflower, which is more than I can say for the rest of you. I can only surmise that my readership has dropped from the lofty height of three down to the miserable slum of one.
I've felt terrible all day today, depressed, lethargic, and listless. I'm not sure what it is but it might be that daylight savings switch that happened. I took a nap and I'm feeling better but I still want to curl up and die. And to top it all off I've got one of those itches that won't go away. When it rains, it pours.

I finally got a static IP at my dorm, so I set up my Linux box as a server and called it siloflower, since it sounds cool. Then I came up with the name devLabs, since it sounds cool, too. Then I built a website around it because... well, we don't need to go into what kind of a loser I am, suffice it to say that I am one. Look there, it might be interesting if you happen to be in that same boat as myself.
It has once again come to my attention that I need to blog more, and as I am obviously a crowd-pleaser (they say three's a crowd), I will make an effort to do so. But, later. It's nice outside. And although I professed earlier that I am a loser, I do not happen to be of the variety that does not know what the sun looks like.

It's unseasonably warm outside. And whereas in Colorado I might be tempted to take a deep breath of the fresh spring air, here it is not like that. You take a deep breath and the first thing you think is, "Am I next to a cow farm?" It's true. So because it's so warm, lots of people have their windows open. Now we learned our lesson last time about leaving windows open in the main area, we're not doing that again. But there was a wind gust that probably broke windows outside, it came in from nowhere, snaked through our suite, and smashed our tower like some kind of Fist of God. I am fairly sure somebody far way recorded the seismic shockwaves, it was so loud people from all the way down the hall came running to our room. I might remind you that things in the mirror are larger than they appear:

So, when I said before that we had gotten the new internet, I was wrong. It happened yesterday, instead. And what I thought was fast before? Nothing. I just downloaded an eight meg file in... eh, about eight seconds. That's right, I was pulling down one megabyte per second. These speeds typically make me think of terms like local area network. I recall having transferred files on a network at that speed, in fact. But this was not over a network, this was over the internet. Geez. It's better than I ever thought it could be. Seriously.

Oh-- oh my gosh. I think.. I think we finally got the faster internet we were promised at the beginning of the school year. It's-- I was just downloading something at 184. 184!!! Do you understand this? Do you even comprehend its meaning? We finally have fast internet! Dear God, it's a miracle!
