I've posted that desktop picture I've been talking about. It's called Fighting Shadows. Unfortunately, I believe the title makes it out to be more glorious than it really is. Well, check it out, and if you have anything to say (which you never do, but if things change) you can contact me.

I spent the night at my brother's house last night. He's got a magical bed there. Seriously, you hit this bed, and you're out. Then you wake up like fourteen hours later. There are birds chirping, and the sun is shining in your face. The dew on the ground glistens. You hop right out of bed, frolic around the house, jump out the door and play with the squirrels and other small animals that come right up to your door. Then the neighbor walks by and waves, and gives you a big square-jawed grin, and you pick up your paper and the world is great. That's what happens when you sleep in the magic bed.

I went to my friend's house today and played Ghost Recon for a few hours. It's actually quite fun. *looks out the window* It's snowing. I hope we have another snow day tomorrow.

*dances* No school today! There's not even that much snow here, really, but they cancelled school anyway. *does an old-time jig, with all the fiddling and the clogs* And it's supposed to continue snowing throughout the day. Perhaps we'll have another snow day tomorrow, eh? *nudge, nudge*

Look, look! I just made some mods to my site which now allow me to display the song I'm listening to as I type this to you. Also thrown in for good measure is a mood field. This may not seem exciting except for the fact that I built a script to auto-grab the info from my audio player so I don't have to manually type shtuff. Cool. Also changed around some of the colors because, frankly, they were ugly.

I was just reading some of LiveJournal's stuff. Turns out the whole thing is open source, which surprised the heck outta me. I thought (briefly) about implementing some of it over here, but then I thought, "Why?". After that, I thought, "Eww. It's all written in Perl." Then I thought, "Hrrm, Pringles!". Although I did not, in fact, go and eat Pringles at that Juncture in Time. The can sits right now on my desk, unopened but not forgotten.
The possibility exists of having new content up sometime. There's a desktop that I'm working on that is essentially done but doesn't feel like it. It's called... well, I don't have a title for it, but it was inspired by the header graphics at Avalon Sector. Unfortunately, he is a far better artist than I will ever hope to be. *shrugs*
I've made some fairly major changes in the part of the back end of my site that allows me to post things. I now have the glorious task of debugging everything, but also the ability to modify my posts. No more typos! Woo!
After several stupid mistakes in the basic logic of my new system, things seem to be working quite well! Yessir. Very well.
Oh, oh no. My wrist. It hurts amazingly bad. It probably didn't help that after it started hurting, I played Unreal for like three hours. It's feeling better now that I've massaged it a little bit and I stopped playing computer games, but as I'm typing this it's starting to hurt more. Hrm. I think I need a wrist brace. Ugh.
Anyway, I'm at a LAN party right now. It's cool and all but, heh, I can't play anything since my wrist hurts so badly. Hehe- they're getting slaughtered in WarCraft III. Hrm..
I wrote a play for school called Pants. This is supposed to be a comedy. It didn't turn out quite as funny as I'd hoped it would. Everyone in class had to write a play, and let me tell you what reading them has given me: as vast, seething hopelessness in today's future. Seriously. Some of those plays were... I can't understand how anyone could write one and still be alive. You'd have thought they'd have gone and gotten themselves hit by a bus or something by now. Anyway, if my play gets picked, we'll be putting it on on the school stage. Ugh.
Well, I went to PHPBuilder and grabbed some sample code for displaying pages with previous/next buttons on them. I modified it a little bit to work with my setup, and badda-bing, badda-boom: check the bottom of the page and you'll see a few links to other Updates pages. You can view anything all the way back to the middle of June, which is the oldest post I had when I converted over to SQL. Next on the to-do list is to find an easy way to let me modify my posts. Right now it's very, very difficult. And all I want to do is fix a broken link or correct a typo. Gah.
