![]() ![]() Tuesday February 26, 2002 at 9:27 pm I know, I know. It's been a good 'n long while since I updated last. I won't make any excuses for you: I got lazy. Yessir. The good news, though, is that I made you a new picture! Made while listening to Guardians of the Earth's Remember, it is aimed to be a peaceful piece. It's got the lyrics to the song as the main part of the picture, and... well, I dunno. If you listen to the song really late at night and try to think about your childhood summers... you'll likely get the feeling. Seriously folks, this song brings a tear to my eye. It's beautiful. The picture isn't all that wonderful. Oh well. In other news, if you'd love to pirate some of my MP3's, go right ahead and jump on to my FTP server at ftp://stormsilver.mine.nu/. No username or password necessary. Have fun. Thought: Snif. It's been, one week... Errm, ahem. So, most of you may have noticed that I've moved my site. Yes, I'm sure you have or else you wouldn't be here looking at this. Well, it's handy and great. Everything is served right off my very own computer. Well, actually my parent's computer, since mine is a laptop and susceptible to being moved. I'm a-runnin' Mac OS X up there, and it's fine fine fine. For those of you not in the know, OS X comes with Apache Web Server built right in, along with an FTP server. Since it's all Unix based and whatnot. So now I've got 8 gigs of space instead of 25 megs. And I can do just about anything I want, as long as I can figure out how to do it. It's very schweet. Thought: I'm better than all of you. Combined. I swear. I made another picture. I'm on a roll. It's called Ring Decay. No, it's not inspired by the Lord of the Rings or anything, I just happened to make it. And the text isn't a quote from any story, I made that up too (I thought it might sound familiar to some people and then they'd rack their brains trying to figure out what it's from). You have to read the text in a deep movie preview announcer voice. You know, like, "Coming this summer, the greatest movie you'll ever see." Like that. I'm still stoked about my iPod. I've been listening to it quite a bit. You'd be surprised how many different activities become that much more bearable when you've got an arsenal of 1,000 songs at your fingertips. Ha. Hahahahaha. HAHAHAHAA!!! Thought: What would you do if I walked out on you? Hey, guess what! I got an iPod! Yes, it's even cooler than it looks. It's badass. Wow. I'm overwhelmed with it. In other news, I made a new picture, Ghostly Burn. I was sitting around and doodling (figuratively, I don't have a drawing tablet. I can't afford one because I spent all my money on the iPod) and it actually took a long time before I made anything that even looked alright. So I was bonkin' around, and then since I've been playing Diablo II so much, I had the words 'Mana Burn' in my head. And that means that when the guy hits you, it takes off like 99% of your mana. So I was thinking of a similar idea with ghosts (sorta, I wasn't really thinking, but now I am). The ghost floats about and when it touches you it takes off like 99% of your life and thats why you feel cold... or something... when... they... uhm... pass over you? And stuff? Yeah. Also wrote Weird Dream. I dunno what it's about. I didn't really know where I was going with it, but it's not that long and it's kinda funny (I hope) so take a look at it. Thought: I can't describe it! Well, it's snowing. I'm hoping fervently for a snow day tomorrow. That'd be schweet, maybe I'd make a picture. Or I'd sleep. I'm going to get an iPod Hot dang, I can't wait. Whoopee. There was something else... oh yes. Did anyone see Cast Iron Conundrum while it was up instead of the normal entry page? It's kinda funny... I'm not sure what was going on, I just had a picture of a frying pan on a stove and then I got carried away and there you've got it. Thought: My room is comfortably small. I almost made a new picture tonight, but I suddenly lost all of my will to do any reel, aktuell work, and so I didn't. I knew exactly what I was going to do and everything, but, like I sez, no work ethic. So, instead, I give you this picture of an ugly guy and some dead deer, this picture of a dog and a fat guy, this picture of a gnu, this picture of a bear in front of a car, and this picture of a gigantic cock. Thought: If you tolerate this, then your children will be next. So check this out: for all of you still running at 800x600... I've now resized, not one, not two, not several, not a few, but all of my desktop images to 800x600. Wow. It took me like an hour to run the resize on all of them, and I've got quite a bit of brain damage from recoding the Artworks page. The desktop pictures section is much more flexible for multiple image sizes now, and should also be a little easier to figure out. Geez, talk about a headache, the brain damage from that endeavour should last well through the weekend until I can stock up again at school on Tuesday. I also made minor updates to the Otherthings and Links pages. Thought: Belch. I've decided that I need to update more. I've been looking around at a lot of design sites lately, and thinking about design theory. At first I wasn't very happy with this site design, but as I look at it and evaluate it upon the principles I've been thinking about, I actually realize that it's quite good, considering that I did it before I started cruising all the 'trendy' design sites. One site that's given me much inspiration as of late is Carbon Four. Anyway,I've made several pictures. Probably my favorite of the newest batch is Lectric Storm. There's not a whole lot to say about it, so I suppose I just won't say anything at all, except that at the time I made it I didn't know it was going to be a desktop, so it's not the new, larger, better size. Next up comes Race Explosion. I don't like it very much and as such, I'm not going to put it anywhere else. The middle part was pretty kickass though, so I decided to work on that and try to perhaps make something more out of it, and thus was Smooth Vortex. I really like this one because it's so smooth. I also updated Tru Blue so that it no longer has the interlace effect, which I've never liked. Uhmm.. what else? I think I'll be redoing the Artworks page so that it's easier to navigate/look at. I may also update the Links and Otherthings pages to have more content on them. Thought: I thought there was something else, but I can't remember what it was. Well, nothing new for you. Sorry. It's Friday, though, and that makes me happy. Maybe I'll make something tonight. Eh, I doubt it. Well, have fun an' all. Thought: I feverishly wish for the summers of bygone years. Happy New Year, ya'll. No, I've not updated in a long long while. Does anyone know? I doubt it. If I knew that people visited this place, I might update more often. Ahh well... Let's see... I've made several pictures since a month ago. Luminous Essence II was made utilizing the same techniques as Luminous Essence, but doesn't look as good. Actually, I can't seem to make anything that's remotely as good as the first one, and believe me I've tried. I'd call it beginners luck. The picture just feels like it's incomplete... maybe as though it were missing something, but I don't know what. Solar Red II is a mixture of several techniques I've been using as of late. I was listening to some good trance music and I had just been dancing in my own peculiar way (don't worry, no one could see me) and I sat down. I wasn't sure if I wanted to play Diablo II or not, so I popped open Photoshop and just started messing around. This is what turned out, and in the end it looked similar to Solar Red. However, it looks tons better, and is not done using any of the techniques I used in the first one. I didn't use the original picture as a base to work from or anything, the second is all from scratch. The other thing about this here picture is that it's the first of my new larger size. Although I don't use such high resolutions, other people do, and now this picture and all subsequent desktops will be available in at least 1152x864. Just click the link at the end of the description that sez "1152x864". Ooh, I also made some changes to the descriptions on the Artworks" page so that I don't sound so dumb. Thought: Waaaaaa wooooo waaa woooowwwww.... hoooooooo haaaaaaaa waaaaaa.... ooooooo eeee aaaaaaaa.... tsika tsika tsika thump thump thump thump doodloodleoot dee dee daa.... Fixed a long-standing problem with Christmasdesk , it works now. Sort of. Actualy, it looks really crappy, but if you really like it, you can find the picture somewhere from Coke and slap it on a red background with some green words. If you're a Mac user, you need to read the
metadata proposal
for Mac OS X and think about signing the petition. Even if you don't use a Mac, you should consider reading it anyway, as it potentially affects you.
Indeed, what's stated in the proposal is good to know. In other news, I've updated the Artworks page to include many of the desktops which I've created since May (and my cessation of updates). Take a look. Thought: Is our purpose to serve the computer or for the computer to serve us? If it is the latter, why in God's green earth
does so much of the world use Windows? Yes! The new site is finally up! After months upon months of not updating and no one caring or noticing, yet another design from my frail hands has passed into production. A dust mote stirs in recognition. Look for continual updates as I get motivated, then decreasing activity for a while until I totally forget, then don't look for any activity for a few months until once again I revamp my site. Random thought: Where would I be without you? |
